Branch Manager I


PenFed Credit Union is hiring a Branch Manager I at our Fremont Branch in Fremont, NE.   The primary purpose of this job is to operate as a business owner and is responsible for ensuring operational soundness and deepening/enhancing member relationships while fostering a member-centric environment. The Branch Manager’s core responsibility is the day-to-day performance and overall management of a small-volume branch.

  • Achieve and exceed member experience metrics by engaging and coaching staff on business strategy and performance results.
  • Achieve and exceed sales engagement metrics by engaging and coaching staff on business strategy and performance.
  • Achieve and exceed operational metrics by mentoring staff on business strategy and performance expectations.
  • Evaluate key performance measures to identify opportunities for improvement in service and sales performance.
  • Manage risk and enhance service delivery through fostering collaboration between branch teammates, partners, and branch leadership team.
  • Adhere to, enforce, and carry out internal and regulatory policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Proactively identify and manage risk in business, products, and service transactions.
  • Foster a member-centric environment whereby all teammates are accountable for delivery of exceptional member experience.
  • Utilize the performance management system to foster effective communication with team through mentoring and weekly one-on-one coaching, mid-year check-in, and year-end summary.
  • Conduct relevant daily huddles to educate teammates on strategies that move the business forward.
  • Utilize the Branch Scorecard to monitor both daily and monthly progress towards achieving branch expectation results.
  • Maintains a high level of knowledge regarding PenFed products and services, to include policy/procedures and resources; assists team with complex member needs, to include explanation of loan decisions, and working with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Actively networks within field of memberships to include local community, military installations, and affiliated partners to grow brand awareness.
  • Represents PenFedHR at various events.  

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Baccalaureate Degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions, required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ related work experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity required, preferably in a financial institution.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will directly supervise employees.

Licenses and Certifications

There are no additional licenses and/or certifications required.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*


Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call is required.
